Madheshi Commission Urges Action Over Misbehavior With Janakpur Bolts Supporters

Kathmandu: The Madheshi Commission has called on the police administration to take immediate action against those involved in misbehaving with supporters of Janakpur Bolts following the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals at the Tribhuvan University's cricket ground in Kirtipur on Saturday.
The Commission has urged the Nepal Police Headquarters to identify and prosecute those responsible for the incident, emphasizing the potential risks such actions pose to social harmony if not addressed sensitively.
Expressing its concern, Commission Chair Dr. Vijay Kumar Datta stated that the incident requires immediate attention from the State and police administration to prevent further escalation of social tensions.
To address the issue comprehensively, the Commission has decided to form a high-level investigation team. The team, led by Commission member Jiwachha Shah, will conduct a field inspection, meet with the injured, and gather details to take necessary steps regarding the incident.
The Commission reiterated the importance of maintaining social harmony and ensuring that such incidents are not repeated in the future. It urged all stakeholders to cooperate in addressing the matter in a just and lawful manner.
